Makassar – PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi affirmed its commitment to operational safety by following up on the alleged practice of filling non-subsidized fuel oil (BBM) into non-standard containers at a gas station in Kalimamuju.
Although the gas station denied selling Pertalite fuel, Pertamina confirmed that the activity of filling Pertamax and Dexlite into non-standard containers remains a serious violation of applicable operational procedures.
Area Manager of Communication, Relations, & CSR for Pertamina Patra Niaga Sulawesi Region, T. Muhammad Rum, said that his party had given a firm warning to the gas station.
“We have reminded gas stations to always comply with Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) aspects, especially by ensuring that fuel is only filled using safe fuel sources. Safety is a fundamental and non-negotiable priority,” Rum emphasized.
Pertamina also deployed an internal audit team to review transactions and ensure there were no HSSE violations in the energy distribution process. This measure was taken to enforce operational and safety standards across the Sulawesi gas station network.
Furthermore, Rum appealed to the public to take an active role in supervision.
“We greatly appreciate public participation. If you encounter any suspected violations or fraudulent practices in fuel purchases, please report them immediately through the Pertamina Call Center at 135,” he said.
Pertamina Patra Niaga Sulawesi Regional Office affirms its commitment to maintaining a safe, transparent, regulatory-compliant, and fraud-free energy distribution process to ensure sustainable energy services for the community. (Rls)
